Dating Sim Games in the U.S.?

I've watched an anime called The World God Only Knows and it made me think, "Are there really that much Dating Sim Games in Japan?" If so, how come there isn't that much in the U.S.?Dating Sim Games in the U.S.?
Different culture. Anime and manga is more accepted there than the U.S. At the same time, the general public ostracize the fans of the anime, manga, gaming. There are those in Japan who "date" or "marry" only virtual girls. There are hotels where you can take you virtual girl on vacation. Try that in the U.S. Some of the dating sims fall into the adult category. While the U.S. can allow the most violent video games, a game with a sexual theme drives people flip their lids. The biggest problem is the cost of translating the game and getting someone to buy them in the U.S. While the fan-base is smaller in number in Japan, the fans buy everything under the sun. That does not happen here. The Japanese pay high dollar (yen) to buy their games.

I like The World God Only Knows. It was funny. Another good show Crunchyroll picked up.

J-Box also has dating sims. Like I said before, some are adult. As do Manga Gamer.
There are starting to be more available in the US but mostly for girls, whereas the ones for guys are far more popular in Japan. Cultural differences about what's "normal" and "acceptable" can make it harder to sell things.

Still, there are several Japanese games available in English and a handful of romance type games origiainlly produced int he west. Just not as many.Dating Sim Games in the U.S.?
Yes, there are a variety of Eroge for all tastes.

Anime is already a small, niche market in the US and Japan... there aren't that many people interested in it; not enough to make it profitable to bring a large amount of media over.

In addition, there is a LOT of text to translate in VN and Eroge... hundreds of pages of Japanese text... which takes a lot of time, effort, and money to translate.
there is moslt in the us people think Dating sim games and anime and manga are gay or for lil kids or other thing but when i was in japan it like not the same every where you go you see people watch anime and reading anime they even got manga reading shop where you go in there and read for free why eating and other thing i like japanDating Sim Games in the U.S.?
MangaGamer.com has quite a few of them translated into English. But you have to buy them to play.

If you've seen Shuffle! they have the game to it. Its pretty nice, though the anime seems to have the story played out better.

Glad to see others like TWGOK, by the way. I absolutely love that series.
There are dating Sims in the United States, it's called Bioware.
